World Humanitarian Innovation Day 2018 – Empowering People To Be Self-Sustainable And Financially Independent

by | Sep 5, 2018 | Press Releases & Congrex News

We are committed to the human cause and support the communities in which we work. When we got the request to contribute in the first World Humanitarian Innovation Day – a unique event designed to promote humanitarian innovations – we did not hesitate. We want to do things that matter and encourage our employees to participate in volunteerism. That is why we have put together a great team to support the event without remuneration.

What is Innovate4Right?

Innovate4Right is a registered non-profit non-governmental association based in Basel, Switzerland. It promotes humanitarian innovators, helping to turn their project ideas into reality. Their highest aim is to help people to get out of donations, oppression and poverty. To move one step closer to this, Innovate4Right organises the first World Humanitarian Innovation Day (WHID).

Learn more about the WHID

Taking place in the Congress Centre Basel in November 2018, this special event builds awareness of shared values that can facilitate a cooperative innovation between humanitarian actors, social entrepreneurs and financial institutions. Innovate4Right selects up to 40 innovators from around the world to present their project. Each scheme should have a high potential for contributing to addressing humanitarian problems like:

  • Food
  • Clean water
  • Housing
  • Health care
  • Education
  • Peace

The registration has just opened. Find more information and register: https://www.innovate4right.ch/whid/

Our impact

We take care of the overall organisation ranging from the participant registration through accommodation services to the planning of social events. As the WHID is organised by a non-profit association, financial resources are limited and time is running short. Therefore, many of our employees have agreed to donate working hours towards the project. To gather support and funds, determination and perseverance are a must. The dedicated project team spares no effort to lead the event to the greatest possible success.
We support the WHID not only with our working hours but also with the required infrastructure, over 36 years of congress expertise and our global network.
Good cooperation and an exchange of knowledge are key to establish the event in the long term and to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

We want to thank our team for their social engagement and are very proud to call our self officially a sustainable partner of WHID 2018.
