At Congrex Switzerland, we are dedicated to creating a sustainable future where every decision contributes to a better world for future generations.
Our Sustainability Taskforce
As an internationally operating Professional Congress Organiser (PCO), Congrex Switzerland takes responsibility for the environment, society, and future generations. By establishing our Sustainability Taskforce, we are making a clear commitment to sustainable development – both within our company and across the events industry.
Our multidisciplinary team, including Sarah Antenen, Yvonne Brüchert, Alise Christoffel, Agnes Dallmer-Zerbe, Lilian Karczmarczyk, Simone Pregger, Silvano Schär, and Holly Shepherd, continuously develops initiatives to reduce our environmental impact, promote sustainable event concepts, and raise awareness among employees and partners about responsible practices. We align our efforts with international standards such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We are currently in the process of obtaining ISO 20121 certification, the international standard for sustainable event management. This marks the next step in our effort to implement sustainability in all aspects of our operations – both internally and within the events we organise.

Are you planning a conference and want it to be as sustainable as possible?
Looking back over the past 20 years and evaluating what has happened, we realise that the world has changed beyond recognition. Technology has paved the way for people to connect in ways we never thought possible and has changed politics, world affairs, sciences and modern culture.
All these changes have also impacted the communities and resources we use as a company. The Healthy Venues family provides us with the tools enabling us to make the best and healthiest venue selection and hence an overall better event experience for all.
Small things can help the environment, and we proudly offer extensive consultancy on this vital topic. We can help our clients to integrate a Corporate Social Responsibility policy into their supplier chains and to reduce and compensate for the environmental impacts caused by their congresses. Depending on the unique social and ecological challenges each congress faces, we guide the holistic planning process.

Our aim is to be fully carbon neutral by end of 2027. We actively offset the CO2 emissions generated by our business flights through certified carbon offset projects, fully comprehending the significant environmental consequences of air travel and dedicating ourselves to addressing them responsibly. We strive to neutralise the ecological footprint resulting from our employees’ business flights by supporting renewable energy initiatives, reforestation programs, and energy efficiency projects.
