14th Bernd-Spiessl-Symposium 2018

The 14th Bernd-Spiessl-Symposium took place at the University Hospital Basel, Zentrum für Lehre und Forschung (ZLF) in June 2018. The Symposium is one of the leading conferences for Innovative and Visionary Technologies in Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery. The congress had the theme “Innovation meets Art” with Art performances and music improvisation as an integrative part of the conference and a guided Tour through Art Basel 2018.

The Challenge

Dealing With Delays in the Conference Programme: The symposium focuses on practical science with highly qualitative academic value, recognisable in its diversity on topics such as Face & Identity, Next Generation of Education, Smart Implants, Internet of the Body, Robotics, 3D Printing and many more. These fascinating subjects led to intense discussions towards the end of the sessions. This often meant that later sessions as well as lunch and coffee breaks were not able to start on time. This delay in the programme even risked an overlap with the social events planned in the evening.

How Congrex mastered it

A time schedule was drawn up in advance, allowing for possible delays. To anticipate any problems we worked closely together with the catering team and other suppliers. Continuous communication  allowed everything to run smoothly, and the delegates were able to enjoy the whole conference, network at social events and visit the exhibition during the session breaks.
