SGU – Swiss Society of Urology
The Swiss Society for Urology (SWISS UROLOGY) was founded on October 27, 1944 in Geneva.
The Society is the professional organization of those physicians who have completed the training prescribed by the Federal Government or an equivalent training recognized by the BAG (Federal Office of Public Health) and thus hold the title of Specialist in Urology. The SGU further supervises education and specialist examination. Furthermore, the SGU checks the training of all urology specialists throughout their professional life. The SGU also issues guidelines for the investigation, treatment and follow-up of urological diseases. She also gives recommendations for educating patients about urological surgeries.
