As of 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) (full EU policy on digital accessibility) will come into force, setting new standards for digital accessibility across the European Union. At Congrex, we fully support the aim of this directive: making digital content and services more accessible to all, including people with disabilities and older users.
Why the European Accessibility Act (EAA) matters
The EAA is designed to remove barriers and ensure that essential digital products and services, such as websites, mobile apps, and online platforms, are usable by as many people as possible. From better colour contrast and clearer text, to keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility, digital accessibility improves usability for everyone.
All organisations operating within the EU will need to ensure their digital services meet these requirements. While enforcement may vary across member states, several countries have already introduced penalties for non-compliance.
How Congrex is Preparing for European Accessibility Act Compliance
We have taken the EAA seriously from the beginning. Over the past months, our team, has undertaken a thorough review and update of our website.
This includes:
- A professional accessibility audit based on WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines, the recognised benchmark
- Technical and visual enhancements to improve colour contrast, text readability, and layout clarity
- Implementation of ARIA roles and labels, and other improvements to support assistive technologies
- Optimisation of interactive elements for keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility
- Internal training and best practice documentation to ensure accessible content creation going forward
Some of these changes may seem subtle, but they make a real difference, not only for users with visual or motor impairments, but for anyone browsing on a mobile device or in low-light settings.

Continued Commitment to EAA Compliance and Digital Accessibility
Accessibility is not a one-off task. It is a continuous commitment. While our homepage already achieves 100% accessibility based on European Accessibility Act testing tools, we are continuing with manual reviews and detailed refinements across all sections of the site.
This project has already required a considerable investment of time and resources, and we believe it is worth every minute. in short, digital inclusion reflects not only legal compliance, but also our core values of care, progress spirit, and reliability.
Looking ahead
By sharing our journey, we hope to raise awareness about the importance of digital accessibility. This means, not only in light of new EU regulations, but as a basic principle of good digital communication.
In summary, we remain committed to maintaining accessibility standards across the websites we manage and will continue to integrate best practices as part of our ongoing service.
