ESCMID
The Society
The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the continuous education, research support, and networking of professionals in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. It fosters groundbreaking advancements through high-quality educational programmes and international collaboration to enhance global health. Over its 40-year history, ESCMID has published scientific content, provided training and scholarships, and partnered with other societies and governments to advance the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases. The 34th congress of ESCMID now recognised as ESCMID Global 2024 (formerly ECCMID)
The 34th congress of ESCMID “ESCMID Global” (formerly known as ECCMID) organised in cooperation with Congrex, held in Barcelona, Spain, was one of the largest and foremost events in the field of infectious diseases, attracting a total of more than 18’000 delegates from around the world. Congrex Switzerland provided key services, such as housing, registration, exhibition and sponsorship management. In terms of accommodation, Congrex pre-booked hotel rooms and ensured the allocation to attendees. The registration service covered all aspects of delegate management, including handling individual and group bookings. For the exhibition and sponsorship, Congrex planned the exhibition area, took care of the exhibitors’ needs and managed the sponsorship contracts. The ESCMID Global Programme Committee ensured a comprehensive agenda that covered all relevant topics in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases, featuring keynote lectures, scientific symposia, and expert sessions. In addition to the invited programmes, the congress offered a platform for presenting new research findings, facilitating extensive networking and professional exchange among participants.
EULAR
The Society
Since its inception in 2000, the EULAR European Congress of Rheumatology has evolved into a premier venue for exchanging cutting-edge scientific and clinical insights in Europe. It is widely recognised for fostering innovation among practicing physicians, offering invaluable updates on novel clinical research. With participation from over 12,000 delegates representing more than 130 countries, the congress serves as a pivotal forum for rheumatology professionals to engage in high-standard scientific, educational, and social discourse, aiming to advance the clinical management of rheumatic diseases and enhance collaboration with patient organizations. EULAR 2024 congress
The EULAR 2024 Congress in Vienna, Austria, was a pivotal event renowned for its comprehensive scientific program and impactful discussions. The congress convened leading experts, healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders to explore groundbreaking research and innovations in rheumatology. The 12,781 participants engaged in insightful sessions, abstract presentations, and workshops that addressed critical challenges and advancements in managing rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. Congrex Switzerland provided essential services, including accommodation, registration, exhibition and sponsorship management. For accommodation, Congrex pre-booked hotel rooms and allocated them to delegates to ensure a smooth process. The registration service included overall delegate management and efficiently handled both individual and group bookings. On the exhibition and sponsorship side, Congrex organised the exhibition area, handled the different needs of exhibitors and handled the sponsorship contracts. Vienna’s cultural backdrop enriched the congress experience, offering a vibrant setting conducive to networking and collaboration among attendees from around the world.

The Society

ESC Congress 2024
Recently held in London, the ESC Congress 2024 was a landmark event that showcased pioneering research and pivotal scientific advancements in cardiovascular medicine. The congress focused on the theme ‘Personalising Cardiovascular Care’, emphasising tailored treatments to enhance patient outcomes and redefine standards of care. It provided a vibrant platform for global cardiology leaders to collaborate and drive innovations that shape the future of cardiovascular healthcare worldwide.
31’800 participants engaged in practice-changing science, enriching networking opportunities, and impactful discussions to transform patient care. ESC Congress 2024 underscored its role as a catalyst for progress in cardiovascular medicine, uniting experts and stakeholders to address the challenges and opportunities in the field. Congrex had the pivotal role of handling the entire housing management. This included the selection and pre-booking of appropriate hotels. Furthermore, it included the overall allocation of rooms to individuals and groups.
CARDIOMYOPATHY CONFERENCE
Congrex Switzerland recently had the privilege of organising the first Cardiomyopathy Congress, a new addition to our portfolio. This newly launched congress took place over two days at the University Hospital of Geneva and welcomed 74 participants. Cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle, can lead to weakened or altered heart function, resulting in heart failure or arrhythmias. This event provided an essential platform for medical professionals to discuss advances and challenges in understanding and treating this disease, setting the stage for future advances in cardiomyopathy research and treatment.
Another exciting 2024 international congress highlight was medArt Basel. MedArt Basel provides comprehensive updates and reviews across the spectrum of internal medicine and celebrated its 20th anniversary in June.
