Meet our Team: Stephane Dazet (Chief Operations Officer)

by | Jun 18, 2022 | Press Releases & Congrex News

As you probably already read in our last press release, Stephane Dazet is the newest member of the Congrex management team.

We are pleased that Stephane is introducing himself a bit more personally in this interview:

“I am born in France – South West with a rugby mind set making this sport values very important to me. I am passionate with more than 21 years experience in international project management, association, pharmaceuticals industry and agency.
I am very pleased to join Congrex as Chief Operations Officer (COO) and share my experience, as well as knowledge to contribute to Congrex’s growth and success.

1. What were the main reasons you wanted to join our team?

Julia Bicher, the CEO of Congrex Switzerland, described the values of the Company and those strongly impressed me.  From the first interview on, I had an incredible good feeling and no doubt, that Julia and the whole Company was genuine and real.

2. What were you most looking forward to when starting the new job?

As mentioned, I was very impressed by the Company’s values. I was especially looking forward to the Value Team Spirit, which is absolutely essential for me. Another point that plays a big role for me, besides the team spirit, is trust. Congrex has represented a very trustworthy company for me from the very beginning, and I was particularly looking forward to that.

3. What would you like to achieve in the near future?

First of all, I would like to understand all the processes and operations of the company itself. One achievement will be to be able to implement and adapt to them.

Besides that, it is also important for me to get to know the customers and to build a long-term business relationship with them. I don’t want to be just a face on a company website, instead I want to really get to know the people around me.

Besides the daily business, I really want to internalize the Congrex way of thinking.

4. What do you think are the biggest challenges as COO?

Currently, I see three main challenges as COO.

The first relates to the previously mentioned processes and operations of the company, which I want to understand and implement. Once I fully understand them, I start questioning things and thinking about how to optimize them. However, it is very important for me not over complicate the existing processes but to introduce new ways of thinking. Respecting other opinions and ideas is a fundamental part of my work.

Next is a possible implementation of improvements. In other words, this means that all tool optimizations need to be efficient and easy to implement for the staff.

Last but definitely not least, is to gain new clients. On the one hand, the company lives from its inspiring corporate culture, but it is still nothing without its loyal customers.

5. You have dedicated the greater part of your career to associations, which are also an important part of our customer service at Congrex. Where does your passion for this come from?

My passion comes from the European Society of Cardiology, where I learned my profession. While working there, I also felt that I could contribute to reducing the burden of disease by organizing congresses.

To continue this mission at Congrex is a great honor for me.

6. If you had to describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?

The three words would be: Dedicated, team spirit and creative.”

Thank you for the interview, Stephane.
