Alongside Messe Basel is the Congress Center Basel. Refurbished in 2013 it combines functionality with modern aesthetics. Altogether, this multi-purpose facility can accommodate up to 6,000 people and offers a large number of halls, rooms and foyers of all sizes.

In December 2014 the Congress Center Basel hosted the 21^st OSCE Ministerial Council. On the ground floor of the Event Hall the Plenary Hall was installed for this conference. Delegates came from 57 OSCE member states and well about 2000 participants attended. The city of Basel provided the perfect conditions for this incredible event including security, which is a big concern these days. The Congress Center Basel proved to be exceptionally well suited, with 80 separate meeting rooms, a media centre for more than 200 members of the press, and seated dining for 1200 people.
