Following the successful premiere last year, the second Swiss Hernia Days took place in the Congress Center Basel, 20 – 21 September 2018. The event offers an ideal platform for professional exchange among national and international hernia experts. Besides interactive discussions, state-of-the-art lectures and live surgeries, we had prepared an interesting networking event.
One of the highlights of the Swiss Hernia Days – but at the same time a huge challenge – were the live surgeries from the
University Hospital in Basel. International experts performed hernia procedures, which we broadcasted in high-definition-quality to the audience in the congress centre. Our team had to deal with technical, logistical and scheduling demands as well as with the unpredictable nature of any operation.
HOW CONGREX MASTERED IT
To ensure that the live broadcast went off without a hitch, we have worked with the best technicians. Together, we have created an individually adapted concept. In advance, we had tested the broadcast extensively. Furthermore, a group of technicians, who could have reacted in an emergency, was on-site. The five hours live surgery session was a great success and the audience was able to enjoy the broadcast without disturbance.
