The European Stroke Organisation (ESO) is a pan-European society of stroke researchers and physicians, national and regional stroke societies and lay organisations that was founded in December 2007. The ESO is an NGO comprised of individual and organisational members.

With over 150 participants contributing expertise in different areas of stroke research, 2019 has seen another successful year for the European Stroke Science Workshop. During slightly over 2 days, participants discussed a wide range of topics from basic science, translational research to clinical trials.

The EAN-ESO Symposium 2018 took place in Mumbai, 8 – 12 December 2018.

The ESO-Karolinska Stroke Update Conference took place in Stockholm, Sweden, November 11-13, 2018.
